Phil Delurgio, the founder of M-Factor, passed away on June 14, 2010 after having surgery due to brain cancer. He was a devoted father, husband, son, brother, and friend. Skiing, coaching soccer, watching USC football games and travelling with his friends and family were favorite times for Phil. His warm smile, enduring good humor and positive outlook on life will be remembered by all who knew him.
Phil was a true expert in establishing and growing start-up companies, especially software companies that use math to solve complex marketing and business problems. He had extensive management experience in delivering technology and the related professional services. Phil was a passionate entrepreneur with expertise related to the consumer products industry, marketing, demand modeling, software, financial modeling, econometrics, and start-ups.

Following his family’s tradition of attending the University of Southern California he earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration. A proud USC Trojan alumnus, he kept in touch with his classmates and rarely missed a football game home or away. Phil began his career in analytical marketing at Nestlé, and decided to further this career path by attending the University of Chicago, Graduate School of Business and received a M.B.A. in Marketing and Statistics. Phil joined Booz & Co. in Chicago where he led software development and marketing strategy consulting engagements for many large consumer products companies. Phil relocated to California and was part of the founding team and the Vice President of Development for DemandTec Inc. He then had the vision to co-found M-Factor, where he worked since inception. Phil brought his unique combination of warmth, humor, intelligence and kindness to the workplace and will not be forgotten.
