Lawrence Whittle - Chief Executive Officer

Lawrence WhittleMr. Whittle has over 15 years of experience in management roles in the enterprise technology sector. He brings with him a wealth of relevant experience from the world of advanced, analytically-powered software solutions for a broad range of industries including retail and CPG.

Most recently, he was the Managing Director and International Vice President of Nomis Solutions, the recognized leader in pricing optimization software for banking and finance. Prior to Nomis, he was Vice President, International at ProfitLogic, Inc., which provides profit optimization software for retailers. Whittle founded the international operation in Europe, and built a sales and consulting team to expand global business. Upon acquisition of ProfitLogic by Oracle Corporation in mid-2005, Whittle was appointed as Regional Vice President of Operations - EMEA of Oracle.

Earlier he spent seven years as Vice President EMEA of Marcam Solutions (acquired by SSA Global which later merged with Infor Global Solutions), an enterprise solutions company focused on the global CPG and process industry market.

Bruce Pagliuca - Chief Operating Officer

Bruce PagliucaMr. Pagliuca has more than 20 years of relevant experience, in a number of executive level positions at rapidly growing companies that provide advanced, analytically-powered software and services solutions to the retail, CPG, and finance industries.

Before joining M-Factor, he was the Group Executive of Professional Services at Fortent, a leading solutions provider of analytical software solutions for financial institutions. Prior to Fortent, he held the position of Senior Vice President of Global Customer Operations at ProfitLogic, Inc., which provided profit optimization software for retailers. Upon acquisition of ProfitLogic by Oracle Corporation in mid-2005, Mr. Pagliuca was appointed as Vice President of Global Customer Solutions and Operations for Oracle Retail.

Previously he held several roles, including Chief Operating Officer, during his eleven years at Armature, Inc., a provider of order fulfillment, category management, and merchandising services and software to retailers.

Mr. Pagliuca received a B.A. in History from Le Moyne College of Syracuse, New York.

Dirk Beyer - Chief Scientific Officer

Dirk Beyer Dr. Beyer has more than 13 years of experience in the design and development of analytical tools and applications. Before joining M-Factor, Dr. Beyer held a position of Principal Scientist and Research Manager at Hewlett-Packard Laboratories. During his tenure there he worked on a long list of successful projects in the fields of Marketing, Pricing, and CRM.

Dr. Beyer has taught courses in Statistics and Operations Research at Leipzig and Cottbus Universities in Germany and York University in Toronto, Canada.  He has authored more than two dozen scholarly papers and has 30 patents issued or pending.  Dr. Beyer holds a Masters degree in education and a Ph.D. in operations research from Leipzig University, Germany.

Steve Leven - Senior Vice President of Sales and Customer Management

Steve LevenMr. Leven brings over 25 years of experience in delivering and supporting analytical software solutions to clients. He brings unique experience in managing major customer programs to clients like Wal-Mart, Rolls-Royce Aircraft, and the U.S. Department Transportation. Prior to joining M-Factor, Mr. Leven has managed the delivery of forecasting and optimization solutions and leading professional services organizations at Infor, Oracle, ProfitLogic and the Data Resources division of McGraw-Hill. In addition, Mr. Leven spent five years as a management consultant at A. T. Kearney, where he focused on demand chain planning and program management.

Mr. Leven holds a patent on size scale optimization for apparel retailers. He received a B.A. from The University of Massachusetts and an M.A. in Economics from the State University of New York.

Michael Patterson - Vice President of European Operations

Michael PattersonMr. Patterson is extensively experienced in selling and delivering complex analytical and optimization solutions to many of the world’s top Fortune 1000 organizations. Michael joins M-Factor from Oracle where he was a key Director for the European region in Oracle’s Global Retail Business Unit. Prior to Oracle, Michael had several software solution delivery roles in Europe including sales, marketing and business development at ProfitLogic, Siebel Systems, and Chordiant/Prime Response. Prior to entering the software market Michael had been fast-tracked through worldwide and regional commercial marketing, merchandising and sales management roles at one of the top retailers in Europe, Marks and Spencer plc. Additionally, Michael was a Commissioned Officer in the Royal Navy, specializing within the Submarine Service.
