SAN MATEO, Calif.– M-Factor, Inc, the leading provider of web-based dynamic profit and revenue optimization software for the consumer goods and quick serve restaurant sectors, today announced the appointment of Dirk Beyer, Ph.D. to the position of Chief Scientific Officer. In this role, Dr. Beyer leads the company strategy around the innovation of ground breaking demand modeling methodologies and their application to the M-Factor software as a service offering.

Dr. Beyer has more than 13 years of experience in the design and development of analytical tools and applications. Before joining M-Factor, Dr. Beyer held a position of Principal Scientist and Research Manager at Hewlett-Packard Laboratories. During his tenure there he worked on a long list of successful projects in the fields of Marketing, Pricing, and CRM. He has also taught courses in Statistics and Operations Research at Leipzig and Cottbus Universities in Germany and York University in Toronto, Canada. He has authored more than two dozen scholarly papers and has over 30 patents issued or pending in the areas of Demand Forecasting, Marketing Campaign Management, Dynamic Pricing, Computer Infrastructure Management and Design, and Supply Chain Management. Dr. Beyer holds a Masters degree in education and a Ph.D. in operations research from Leipzig University, Germany.
